POWER WORDS

POWER WORDS

FAITH & FOCUS have been my words for April. Of course, I do have other words, but these two are, have been my go-to as they say.

Power Words; what are they? My definition of a Power Word; Is a word that helps you or guides you to the outcome you desire. I speak/say my Power Words every day. During a day I may say, my words over fifty times to keep me going.

There are so many distractions from life events that they can get in the way of you/me achieving the smallest things. In my case, fatigue from my illness can really set me back. I fight through it; by telling myself to Focus and keep the Faith. When I am not centered and at peace within, nothing goes right for me, nor am I able to complete even the smallest task. I fight through my storms with my Focus and Faith intact, giving me a sense of completion.

Do you love when you have completed that goal, action? Heck yeah, I do, and I take pride in it. As we all should. You should love, appreciate, and celebrate every accomplishment. Who cares if its big or small, the fact that you/ me got it done is what counts. So develop those words that can push you to greatness. Use them every day. Place them on a sticky note on the fridge, bathroom mirror, etc.

Power Words are also great for children with Autism. My three-year-old grandson has Autism Sensory. Loud noises, crowds, certain sounds can cause a change in his behavior or mood. These changes can be rough on him and on the family. One of my Power Words for him is “Calm,” I repeat it over and over until he starts to focus on me and relax.

So Power Words are not just for getting us adults by. They can be used by anyone to help aid/calm a situation. There is a man I follow on twitter, who asks every morning “what word will you focus on today” something like that. I find myself responding, and thinking about all the words I use and are taped around my home. I share my words on that thread, as well as many others. I love to see what words people use to motivate themselves daily.

Do you have particular word, words, phrase, or quote that inspires you and keeps you going? Share it! Here is a quote that I keep in my wallet.

“IF I HAVE THE BELIEF THAT I CAN DO IT. I SHALL SURELY AQUIRE THE CAPACITY TO DO. EVEN IF I MAY NOT HAVE IT AT THE BEGINNING.” GANDHI

Another favorite:

“THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS LIMITS TO GROWTH, BECAUSE THERE ARE NO LIMITS TO THE HUMAN CAPACITY FOR INTELLIGENCE, IMAGINATION, AND WONDER.” RONALD REAGAN

Peace, enjoy the calming affect of the picture above...
