CHAOS

As a Virginia native, I see my state being torn apart once again due to racial violence, ignorance, and just plain old stupidity. What is CHAOS? Chaos is what I see happening, I see mass confusion, division, and separation that can and will lead us to civil war if we do not stop and think. Virginia is not the only state in turmoil; states all over the United States are in chaos. If each state in the United States is in total chaos, what happens if the country were to go to war? What unity would my brothers from that box of Crayola feel or have to protect and serve one another?

Do you know what chaos theory is or just chaos? This is my definition of chaos~ is to cause mass confusion, disorder, and unorganized action. My definition is short and to the point, the way I like it.

Okay, now let’s look at some definitions of chaos and chaos theory.

Chaos theory- “in mechanics and mathematics, the study of apparently random or unpredictable behaviour in systems governed by deterministic laws. A more accurate term, “deterministic chaos,” suggests a paradox because it connects two notions that are familiar and commonly regarded as incompatible. The first is that of randomness or unpredictability, as in the trajectory of a molecule in a gas or in the voting choice of a particular individual from out of a population. In conventional analyses, randomness was considered more apparent than real, arising from ignorance of the many causes at work” https://www.britannica.com/topic/chaos-theory

Chaos- “a state of utter confusion or disorder; a total lack of organization or order.” http://www.dictionary.com/browse/chaos

Chaos-

1 obsolete: chasm, abyss

2 a: often capitalized: a state of things in which chance is supreme; especially : the confused, unorganized state of primordial matter before the creation of distinct forms — compare cosmos

b: the inherent unpredictability in the behavior of a complex natural system (such as the atmosphere, boiling water, or the beating heart)

3 a: a state of utter confusion the blackout caused chaos throughout the city

b: a confused mass or mixture a chaos of television antennas https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/chaos

As you can see, my definition of chaos is not that much different from the three sources that I have used. I do not know if people think of the larger picture or even if they fucking get it. In times of chaos and confusion which would win? Who would fight with you or fight for you? “It is always best "to keep one's own state intact," and only second best "to crush an enemy's state." Therefore the hierarchy of targets goes: first attack enemy strategy, then attack enemy alliances, next attack soldiers, and then, only as a last resort, lay siege to a well-defended city”. "The side-guard on the carriage of state," who can be disrupted by the political ruler in three primary ways. First, the ruler can hobble the army by ordering advances and retreats when the army is not prepared for movement. Second, the ruler can meddle with the army's internal politics, which will "confuse officers and soldiers alike." Third, if the ruler interferes with military orders without knowing of the exigencies or demands on the army, he or she will destroy the confidence of the troops in its leadership. The result of such disruption is "sowing disorder in your own ranks and throwing away the victory." (The Art of War) http://www.encyclopedia.com/arts/culture-magazines/art-war

Yes, I am, using my Talk Session to discuss race and how it can impact and destroy. The racial divide you see in Virginia is nothing new in my opinion. I grew up in Prince Edward County where Americans of African descent could not go to school until the mid to late sixties. Any growth that we once had is being torn apart now by mass chaos and ignorance. What do I hope to accomplish with this post?

I want human beings, yes human beings to understand that you do not have a right to be racist and not be called out for it, you do not have a right to lay your hands on another, without that individual laying hands on you, you do not have a right to touch, hit, or kill another human being, without expecting it to happen to you, and lastly you do not have the right to think that you have a voice and can speak your opinion, without another having the same opportunity or doing the same!

Many will not get my Talk Session, and that is okay! However, for those who do understand what I am saying and where I am trying to go with this discussion. in order to change, there must be a straightforward, honest conversation but no CHAOS. “Chaos can blind us all and keep us from seeing that much larger threat” (Kim Walton).

As always, if you have enjoyed this Talk Session, please share…
